Mary's Guide to a Tuesday

1. First things first, you want to make sure you sleep through turning off your first alarm, and then ignore the second one, and then wake up to the one that's 20 minute before you leave and go, eh, I've got lots of time.

2. Make sure your head hurts so much that you're not sure if you're alive.

3. And don't get out of bed until you repeat "Get up, dress up, show up" at least a million times.

4. Once you get up and get dressed, cross those first things off today's to do list and celebrate the day being two thirds done.

5. As you take your first bite of Reese's Pieces cereal, spill milk all over your face somehow, and then realise you should leave in the next five minutes.

6. Make your lunch a few minutes after you should've left.

7. Leave your damn house.

8. Do not let your eyes trick you into "slowly blinking," they really just want to sleep, which is not compatible with driving.

9. Show up to work late BUT HEY YOU SHOWED UP SO CROSS THAT OFF YOUR LIST.

10. Apparently listen to coworkers as they talk about things?

11. Make a list of some sort. Maybe about work, maybe about how your Tuesday has gone, the important thing is that your screen looks like something that is productive and not Pinterest.

Goodbye Lucky Puppy

 Last week my 16 yr 8 mo puppy starting urinating blood in the house because she had a kidney infection. The antibiotics helped stop the blood, but her kidney and bladder were badly damaged due to her age.

 On Monday my parents took Lucky into the vet knowing that there was nothing they could do for her, though they did ask.

 So Monday around noon Lucky was peacefully put down while I sat at work.

 I haven't been able to tell people at work because I wouldn't be able to rehash it as many times as I would have to.

 And though I was supposed to go home yesterday for dinner, I couldn't go there with her gone, so I ate at my house and my mom and sister came over later to watch a movie.

 I know Lucky had a happy, long life. She was my baby and I miss her, but I am glad she is not in pain, confused and scared as she was starting to be.

Thank you, Lucky, for being the best dog in the whole wide world.

I'm working in Accounting cause someone's at my desks

Hello y'all. OK so I've told everyone that would get mad at me if I didn't tell them I think, but I BOUGHT A HOUSE. Things are so far cleaned and set up to be painted. All I have in there is a rug, a plant, kitchen table and chairs, a bucket, and whole lot of rags to clean up everything. Don't know how long painting is going to take, don't know when I'm moving in.

Basically wake up every day and go, sigh, still not done with house. And then I lay in bed not wanting to get up and then I have to hurry to get ready to leave by 7:30 it's a fun game.

There's no one in the Accounting department where I am right now, basically much of the building is a ghost town. It's Friday, people don't work on Friday. Lathan is here today but he told me he doesn't do work on Fridays, hey at least he's here.

Also, I only think of doing One Direction song reviews when I'm driving. So, know that I have thought about finishing that, but haven't and probably won't... maybe I'll jot down the highlights.

I left off at Strong. Like it, good solid song, not really sexual in the undertone department so no embarrassment in the parent zone.

Happily- Makes me think of Christine. Also the Kardashians.

Right Now- Whenever I listen to it I think that they're basically children wanting their parents because "right now everything is new to me" and they're wishing someone was there.

Little Black Dress- Not a big fan. Can't get over the objectification, but it's one of the openers for the tour so, yeah.

Through the Dark- Favorite song on the album. Maybe. Yeah, Don't Forget Where You Belong is second now, Through the Dark has pulled ahead. Good job song.

Little White Lies- Yeah I like it. Especially the beginning "If this room was burning" part, not just the words, though fire is a plus, but the harmony -ness of it.

Better Than Words- Adorable, love that they wrote it. You go Liam and Louis.

Why Don't We Go There- Okay, catchy and all that, but so much of the sex. Like, they're not going nowhere they might as well go "there" and all that. Obviously I listen to songs where they talk about sex, but this one is just so not obvious that it bugs me. That is all.

Does He Know?- Heh. Does he know your art?
                                                            I do like the song though.

Alive- I'M SO GLAD THIS IS GOING TO BE ON TOUR. 1 worst therapist ever, 2 girl, if he's trying to get into your pants don't ask HIM what you should do, and 3 it's a great song.

Half a Heart- Never have they sounded so British. 'alf a 'eart. It bugs me that they have half an arrow in their chest because why would anyone ever use half an arrow, cupid uses full arrows, snipers that use arrows use whole arrows, explain yourself. Christine doesn't like how they have just one shoe, but that makes sense cause like, they started putting on their shoes and then went, eh, she's gone, and then couldn't be bothered and just started walking around.

This is my day today. Except maybe replace the minesweeper with a google chat with Christine. Other than that, eerily accurate.

Phone calls Vs. Friendly people

People who call NET and don't know what they're doing can be super mean about it. There was a dude who was all, uh, wait, I must have the wrong number, and then he SLAMMED the phone down. And then I'm pretty sure he called back and hung up while I said good afternoon. Or, the lady who wanted to pay off her student loans, she was not happy that I was not the Department of Education's loan department.

People who come inside, however, are always really nice, even when I have to tell them that the meeting they're here for doesn't take place that day and they have to come back a different day. A guy came in asking if we sold a DVD of a special that was on, left his card, and left. He was so nice. A little hard of hearing, but nice. I'm getting ok at yelling nicely to old people.

The thing about NET is, if I type net it's the word net, but that's how it's spelled on the business cards and on television so it seems more correct. When I type NET I feel like I'm simply yelling about nets. I am not that passionate about nets.

So, about 250 employees here. Halfish are employed by UNL, the other half, the state. I'm state at the moment, but if it goes full time the job might be through UNL and I'd get an NCard again. yay.

I do not know everyone's name yet. I know some people's names really well, some people's faces really well, and for a few people I even can match those names and faces. Only one person do I know their extension by memory, but I have a cheat sheet and the ability to place people on hold while I figure out who the heck they want to talk to.

I realised I hadn't told anyone details about me at work, except maybe Christine? Because I talk to her during the day while we're both working hard and not being bored at all.

Abby, I'll never meet the people you know here, they are recluses. You can tell them to come introduce themselves, but they already got an email everyone got that said to come introduce themselves to me when I was new, and that didn't happen.

I'd volunteer to help you with your NET needs, but basically, if you come in I can say hi, and if you call I can direct your call somewhere else. I don't have much more power than that. I could change your name on the mailing list to Awesomesauce Mcgee I guess. Some of these names sound fake, but they're probably just fun names.

Overall, I like the song. It's got the repetitiveness we all expect of course, but I like the way they sing the word Diana, so that's lucky for me.

Why is the world

So, of course I follow Niall on Instagram, because it's solid gold, but this is the best example of how weird his life must be.

Chwistmas and Pokemon

I've been busy with the Sister and parents and Pokemon, because I got Pokemon Y and it's very important that I defeat Team Flare and save Kalos and then CATCH'EM ALL.

I am not done with the 1D album posts, imagine that. I'll for sure finish them by August. For sure.

I fell asleep while at the Pinnacle Bank Arena for the Nebraska Women's Basketball game today. Multiple times I fell asleep. We were so far ahead, and I was so tired, and the noise just all blurs together at a certain point. I even commented on how it was "super exciting" randomly and then just fell back asleep. We left at half-time.

Why are Thor and Zeus both gods of lightening, but Zeus is the head god while Thor is Odin's son, hence his last name, Odinson. Like, Zeus' role basically belongs to Odin, and Hades is sort of like the Loki in that he is family that goes all jealous and evil, but Thor is not Poseidon, Thor is Zeus. What the hell Greeks and Norse people. Get your god trios straight. I spend an inordinate amount of time thinking about Greek gods in different contexts.

Hey hey, I watched the Doctor Who Christmas right? I did that. Only teared up twice. I don't want to analyze it because I enjoyed it and I'm afraid that if I think about it too hard or read someone else's critique I won't like it as much. Things were tied up, things happened, Matt is a wonderful actor, ta da, episode enjoyed. I am wondering though, since things were all tied up, does that mean that we're not still wondering who gave Clara his number in the first place?

Nintendo asked me what level of video game expertise I possessed when registering my new 3DS, what does that even mean. I said intermediate because I watch all the games and play like, Pokemon and Mario. We hardly ever kill people in surgery anymore also, so I'd say I was intermediate at that game too.

So that's the song. Yeah, I'm basically procrastinating on this sleep thing. Sleeping. Psh.

Also procrastinating on everything else. All I did today basically was vacuum and go to a Christmas program. I also ate food I suppose, and did some dishes. I also played Pokemon because I'm a little bit obsessed. It's like, I'm unemployed still, better catch'em all.

Hey, remember the OctoDad song? You can sing Doctor WHOOOOOO, nobody suspects a thing, etc. So that's a fun way to continue to not sleep because a song is stuck in your head.

I may actually do a song by song commentary of Midnight Memories as soon as I get it, but, well, I plan things and then I go, eh, effort, I already wrote something else today can't write another thing. Writing is hard. It's like, if I could draw the ideas would come out clearer. That makes sense...

Waiting for a Phone Call

I just called a company back that called me yesterday and they were all, can we call you back in just a sec, and I was all, of course, but now I'm all, sitting here waiting for my phone to ring. That is the most stressful, probably even for people who aren't afraid of phones.

Of course only companies in Omaha call me back, no one in Lincoln has gotten back to me but this is the second Omaha company, and again, not sure if I actually want this job, just applied. That's how I ended up turning down the last one in Omaha. Most of the Lincoln ones actually looked good, this one is just something I know I can do but the posting doesn't even say the salary. I CAN'T MAKE DECISIONS WITHOUT BEING FULLY INFORMED.

I feel abandoned by Christine

I've been sending her pictures and fun stories because I am delightful, but she hasn't responded in several days.

1. She could not have Internet because they are in Germany.
2. She might be sick and unable to form coherent things to say to me.
3. What if she hates me and/or is kidnapped never to be seen again.

We worry.

This time the we is not me, it's me and Molly and Teddy.
